Get In Front Of Audiences Frequently
I was asked recently by a new Toastmasters member on how to reduce the fear of speaking in front of an audience. The answer is simple, just start with small roles but get out in front of audience frequently. The more you do it, the less fear you would have. And this not only applies to just Toastmasters meetings either. Take on any activities where you can be in front of an audience. For example, I initially got over my fear of being in front of an audience through martial arts competitions. The more I competed in martial arts in front of the spectators, the more comfortable I became as a competitor. All of these activities involving audiences help.
